Members will be given a two-week priority for program registration. However, some programs may be opened to non-members at a higher fee to support the class. Please contact the main office to see if a specific program will be available to non-members.

Street Wolves ROLLER HOCKEY LEAGUE Co-sponsored by the Hartford Wolf Pack
We are very pleased to announce once again our co-sponsorship with the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack. This will be the tenth year of this fun filled recreation-based league. The emphasis of this program is definitely on fun. There will be no practices, just low-key games. We will evaluate the skill level of each participant and create teams. Each team will play a 6 game schedule, plus 2 playoff games. Entrance fee will include a team T-shirt. Registration is required by Friday, April 6th. Please note: We are looking for parents who may be able to assist in coaching teams. Please call our office if you can be of assistance.

Street Wolves Instructional Program
Young rollerbladers who would like an introduction to the sport of roller hockey can join us for four special evenings. Each evening will consist of 45 minutes of instruction covering the very basics of roller hockey followed by a short scrimmage. Skating, shooting, passing, and positioning will be introduced. Ages 6 to 12 are invited to attend. This program is a great introduction to the roller hockey league.

Children’s Climbing Tower Days
This is a two-hour program introducing the Bouldering Wall, Climbing Tower and Zip Line.
The Climbing Tower and Zip Line are designed to provide a more individual challenge and to build self-confidence while still relying on the group support system. The tower activities include and 8' x 30' Bouldering Wall for practice before the climbing tower. The Climbing Tower is 40' high consisting of three sides; a 15' Beginner wall with incline, a 30'-35' Intermediate vertical wall, a 30'-35' Advanced Wall with incline and over hangs. The 300' long Zip Line is located at the top platform of the tower. A safety system (belay system) is used with the Tower and 2 Extreme Engineering auto belay system. Registration is required two days prior to the start of each session.

After School Climbing Tower Program
Winding Trails is now offering a new 5 week after school program for kids 6 to 9 years old. Youth High Ropes Program
During this 4 week program, your child will spend 2-1/2 hours interacting with new people in a very different and powerful way. Participants will walk across cable bridges, climb up ropes, climb through tires, maneuver around logs, climb up, in and over a canoe, negotiate a giant’s ladder, swing from 50 feet, and jump into the abyss. Through this, your child has the opportunity to overcome personal fears, develop new self-confidence, and trust. Registration is required three days prior to the start of each session.

Martial Arts for Children
Come and have fun with Taekwondo, a Korean martial art of self-defense. Taekwondo is an Olympic sport and is the most practiced martial art in the western world by people of all ages. Taekwondo differs from other martial arts by its strong emphasis on kicking techniques. The program is offered by William Clato-Day who is a World Taekwondo Federation, Kukkiwon certified 4th degree black belt. A typical class will include warm up exercises, basic kicking and blocking, jump rope, and self-defense techniques or light contact controlled free sparring. Through diligent practice students will develop physical fitness, learn self-defense, self-confidence, and self control.

Kid’s Night Out!
What do pizza, ice cream, games and movies all have in common? KIDS LOVE THEM! Games, pizza, ice cream sundae bar, big screen movie, and endless amounts of fun await you here at the trails! This program has evolved into a very popular kid’s event, so early registration is advised. Grab your stuff and head over to the trails for a night out that you will never forget. Sorry, parents not allowed! Please bring clothing that is appropriate for outdoor and indoor play as well as provide a sleeping bag/blanket and pillow for the movie. Registration is required three days prior to the start of each session.

Kids Kayak Program
This is a great way for kids to learn to kayak. The four day program is 3 hours per day and gives kids a solid foundation in kayak paddling. The kids begin with entries, wet exits and basic strokes. They progress to leans, bracing and mastering a slalom course. Efficiency of stroke and rescues are then covered. All of these skills are reinforced along the way with fun and games. Registration is required three days prior to the start of each session.

Archery Lessons
Bull’s-eye! But can you do that twice? You can after learning the techniques and skills of a great marksman. Come try this challenging and exciting sport. Candidates must be at least seven years of age. All classes will meet at the Archery Range near Walton Pond. Registration is required three days prior to the start of each session.
