Members will be given a two-week priority for program registration. However, some programs may be opened to non-members at a higher fee to support the class. Please contact the main office to see if a specific program will be available to non-members.

Please Note: If you require a reasonable modification to rules, policies or practices, the removal of architectural, communication or transportation barriers, or the provision of auxiliary aides and services to participate, you should forward your request for such accommodations to Winding Trails along with any special needs that you would like to discuss. Winding Trails is not licensed to administer medication.

Women’s Triathlon
Proceeds benefit the Trails Fund

The sprint distance tri, conducted in a friendly non-intimidating environment, caters to women of all abilities and ages. Participants will swim a 1/2 mile loop in Dunning Lake, cycle 12 miles through the quiet roads of Farmington and Avon and then enjoy a flat 5K run through the wide dirt trails in Winding Trails.

If you have never participated in a triathlon, this Women’s Triathlon is for you. Come along and experience a supportive and friendly environment for beginners, and competition for the experienced triathletes. 7th Annual Smashing Pumpkins Mountain Bike Race

This event is #15 of the 2007 Root 66 Northeast XC Mountain Bike Series. The Winding Trails Smashing Pumpkins race course is approximately 5 miles of wide, cross-country ski trails combining long stretches of flat terrain with hills and curves. Several sections of single track on the course total approximately 1/2 mile. Please note: This is a very fast race course! Register at BikeReg.com or download the registration form.

Nature's Open House

Come and see 50+ custom built fairy & gnome dwellings set along a 1/2 mile stroll through wooded trails during fall foliage season. Also meet and greet award winning author, Tracy Kane, along with book readings and book signings. There will be a dedication and opening of a permanent wooded village at Winding Trails for families and friends inspired to build their own houses after the tour. Senior Breakfast and Nature Hut Tour

We would like to invite all of our senior friends to a light breakfast with a tour of our nature hut with Miss Judy. Miss Judy will be on hand to show the renovations to our nature hut and introduce some of our animal residents. We are looking for your ideas and input. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is required two days before the event.

Calling all Fishermen!!!

Are you one of our avid fishermen who have an interest in the fishing program? We would like to invite you to an open forum on fishing at Winding Trails. Topics of discussion are open to you! Topics already suggested include timing of stockings and what is stocked, limits on fish taken, patrolling of who fishes and what is taken, weeds, and a catch and release program. This is your program and this is your opportunity to have a say in the fishing at Winding Trails. Please forward question or topics for discussion ahead of the meeting. Refreshments will be served.

Halloween Party

Calling all goblins, ghosts, and witches. Come join Winding Trails for a Costume Halloween Party in Garmany Hall. We will provide games, pumpkin decorating, and more … Deadline for registration is Wednesday, October 24th.

World Cup Cyclo-Cross Race

This year’s cyclo-cross event will be bigger than ever. The race has been sanctioned as a International/World Cup event and will feature the top racers in the world. Cyclo-cross is a combination of mountain and road cycling, with a little running thrown in to make it interesting. Tom Turkey Hunt

Try your luck and skill in this annual Thanksgiving event. You and your family will follow clues around our very own trail system in hopes of being the quickest to find our fleeing fowl. There will be two family age categories. (Family must participate in the division of their oldest child.) Registration is required by Thursday, November 15th.

Age Divisions: 6 and under / 7 and older

Time: both hunts start at 2:00pm sharp!

Fee: $5.00 per family per division

Holiday Open House

Winding Trails, the Farmington Parks & Recreation Department, and the Exchange Club of Farmington are teaming up to offer this annual Holiday Program. Bring the whole family out to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at their winter wonderland cottage, and make sure they bring their wish lists. While waiting to see Santa, enjoy a ride on the Old Fashioned Horse-drawn Hayride, visit with some of Santa’s animals, decorate holiday cookies, and more. There will be plenty of holiday cheer.

to be donated to the local food bank (after all ‘tis the Holiday season.) This activity is open to Winding Trails Members and Farmington Residents only.

Santa’s Calling!

Give your child a thrill this holiday season by having Santa Claus give him/her a personal phone call. Imagine your child’s delight as St. Nick talks about what your child wants for Christmas, his/her best friends, or even his/her school teacher. Contact the main office to have an information form mailed/faxed to your home or download it off our website. Information forms will be available starting November 26th. The deadline for all information sheets is December 10th. Calls will be made between Dec. 10th - Dec. 14th between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00pm. Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa can only make 75 calls, so get your information sheets in quickly.
